New Series Apple Watch Series 8 – What’s All the Hype About?

The annual Apple release is always something to look forward to, especially when it comes to smartwatch technology and health features. So what’s so different about the newest Apple Watch Series 8 and the Apple Watch Ultra? The Series 8 is another upgrade, similar to previous years with improved battery life, health functions, and overall display and function. But the Apple Watch Ultra is where the premium health and fitness functions, comparable to the Garmin Watch and Oura Ring, come into play.

Deciding Between the New Series Apple Watch or Another Smart Watch?

If you’re in the market for a new fitness tracker, you may be wondering whether to go with the Apple Watch Ultra, the Series 8 or another smartwatch entirely. Both are great options, but they have their own unique sets of features. In this blog post, we’ll compare the two side-by-side so you can make an informed decision about which is right for you.

What features are included with iWatch 8?

The Apple Watch Ultra and the Series 8 are both great fitness trackers. However, they have different features that may appeal to different people. The Apple Watch Ultra has more health and fitness features than the Series 8. For example, it has an ECG app that monitors your heart rate and can detect abnormal heart rhythms. It also has a fall detection feature that can automatically call emergency services if it detects that you’ve fallen and are unable to get up. The Series 8, on the other hand, does not have these features.

Both watches have GPS tracking so you can see your pace, distance, and elevation during a run or walk. They also both track your steps and calories burned throughout the day. However, the Apple Watch Ultra has a few more workout options than the Series 8. For example, it has a Yoga workout mode and a HIIT workout mode. The HIIT workout mode is especially helpful if you’re looking to get in shape quickly because it alternates between periods of high-intensity exercise and rest.

If you’re trying to decide between the two watches, it really comes down to what features are most important to you. If you’re looking for a watch with more health and fitness features, then the Apple Watch Ultra is the way to go. However, if you don’t need all of those extra features and you’re just looking for a basic fitness tracker, then the Series 8 will suffice.

Update on the Rumours Watch: Next Version

There are rumors for the Apple Watch Series 9 for next year, centered around an even larger variety of health and fitness features such as glucose monitoring, sleep apnea detection, and blood pressure monitoring. Many of these exist in bits and pieces on other devices, but are far from being perfect. Many are also hopeful that Apple will incorporate some more fitness features offered on some of the best strength training apps, but within Apple Fitness.

Watch Series 9 – What Can We Expect?

Apple has followed a similar pattern with their other devices, such as the iPhone and iPad, where previous years’ “pro” features trickle down to the base model of the following year. An example of this is the dual-camera setup on the iPhone, or the Apple Pencil support on the iPad Air the year after the iPad Pro. There’s also speculation that the Ultra’s features could potentially trickle down to the Series 9 once it comes out in 2023.

Apple Watch Series 8 – Final Thoughts

In conclusion, both the Apple Watch Ultra and the Series 8 are great fitness trackers. They both have GPS tracking, step tracking, and calorie tracking. However, the Apple Watch Ultra has more health and fitness features than the Series 8. So if you’re looking for a watch with more bells and whistles, go with the Ultra. If you just want a basic fitness tracker, go with the Series 8.

If you have an older watch than the Series 6, it is definitely a worthwhile upgrade to the Series 8, but if you have the previous year’s model (Series 7) then it may not be as worthwhile. The Ultra, on the other hand, has a much larger cost jump, but for good reason if the features it offers are things you are looking for. The Ultra has twice the battery life, a larger display, dual-frequency GPS, a new app that provides functions for scuba and freediving, and has a much sturdier build for harsher conditions and treatment. It seems like the Apple Watch Ultra has bridged the gap that people saw with past watches that prioritized smartwatch features over fitness and health features, and has taken it to the next level.
